Legislation
In February 2020, bills to regulate PFAS use in Alaska were introduced in the Alaska State Senate and Alaska SHouse.
These identical bills (SB 176 and HB 240) are titled "An Act relating to pollutants; relating to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances; relating to the duties of the Department of Environmental Conservation; and relating to firefighting substances."

Among other things, these bills would set the following limits for PFAS in drinking water in Alaska (ppt = parts per trillion):

perfluorobutanesulfonic acid (PFBS): 420 ppt

perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA): 8 ppt
-
perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS): 16 ppt
-
perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA): 6 ppt
-
perfluorohexanesulfonic acid (PFHxS): 51 ppt
-
perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA): 400,000 ppt
-
hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid (Gen-X): 370 ppt
